Fast and Accurate Diagnostic Testing

At Whitestone Veterinary Care, we are committed to providing quality care for dogs and cats. We strive to offer a full range of services under one roof, and to meet that goal, we are thrilled to have in-house diagnostic testing capabilities. Thanks to our state-of-the-art equipment, we can take x-rays and ultrasounds and perform laboratory tests in our facility. This allows us to obtain fast, accurate results and saves you from the hassle and expense of needing to take your pet to another veterinarian for testing. If you are looking for in-house diagnostics in Whitestone, College Point, Bayside, or the surrounding areas, you’ve come to the right place!

In-House Laboratory

With our in-house laboratory, there is no need to send your pet’s urine, blood, fecal, or other samples out for testing. Instead, we can process a wide range of tests ourselves. Whether we are monitoring baseline values, checking for certain illnesses, or assessing organ function, performing these tests in-house provides us with fast results so we can do what’s best for your furry friend.

Diagnostic Imaging

Sometimes, we need to peer inside a patient’s body to look for injuries, defects, and other issues. In those situations, we rely on diagnostic imaging tools. Here at Whitestone Veterinary Care, we provide both x-ray and ultrasound diagnostics. We often use x-rays to examine pets’ teeth, assess injuries, and view the position and size of organs. Our veterinarians also use x-rays to confirm pregnancy. Ultrasound is used to look inside fluid-filled organs, such as the heart, kidneys, and liver. Our abdominal ultrasounds are performed by a board-certified Internist, and a consultation is included with each exam.

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram uses ultrasound waves to create images of the heart and its structures, including the valves, chambers, and wall. If your pet needs an echocardiogram, it will be performed by a board-certified cardiologist, and a consultation is included with the exam.
